It's been nearly a century since the Great War, and the Appalachian Wastes of the North have swelled with life - creatures and cultures born from a strange new ecosystem, as well as surviving collectives from lands long dead, looking for a new home – pulled together by tales of a city that sleeps…now mysteriously awoken.
Outside its pearly shell, invading forces gather strength, derelict tribes wander as nomads, forage the undead wilderness, huddle around blazing campfires to fend off the bitter cold nights of winter, which grown fiercer and longer with each passing year; plants and animals develop new behaviors and features, old world cities rise from their ashes…and a landscape in flux stands on the precipice of cannibalism. War never changes.
